As warmer weather arrives, we can’t help but realize that tank top and shorts season is just around the corner, and while our desire to bask in the sun may be high, our desire to hit the gym is not.
One solution is home workouts. Working out at home is an ideal way to get in shape without having to invest in a pricey gym membership or spend the time driving to the local gym. The best part is that you are in the privacy of your own home. No one can judge you for your sweaty clothes and pink face.
All you need is a mat and a bit of living room space and you’re good to go.
At times, it’s even great to grab a workout partner who can keep you motivated and spot you on arm day.
But what exactly do you do when your workout partner becomes more of a nuisance than a help?
While working on his physique, one man’s home gym session received an unexpected workout buddy.
His golden retriever, Bailey, decided that workout time seemed like an opportune time for a high-energy playdate. As the man breaks out his workout mat, Bailey sees the mat and instantly jumps on it. It’s her workout now!
An added benefit of having a large furry pal is that you get an extra set of reps in while trying to move it out of the way… over and over again.
The man finally gets some space alone to crank out his daily set of pushups, but Bailey is as quick as a whip. She dives down under the man before he can even reach the floor.
Bailey has full-on hijacked this man’s workout, but he refuses to give in.
In another attempt, the man lifts Bailey off the mat and onto the sofa. That man will have biceps of steel after lifting Bailey onto the couch so many times.
The man may not be getting his intended workout in for the day, but he’s still getting in a workout!
Bailey is also torching some serious calories.
After running around in about twenty circles, Bailey decided that she’s finished her first set and is in need of a break – a belly rub break that is. The man laughs out hysterically, but he’s not giving her any rewards for coming between him and his floor exercises.
The man quickly gets into a plank position, but Bailey springs off the couch and dives right under him!
He continues holding his plank, trying as hard as possible to ignore his fluffy workout pal, but Bailey decides that his body weight isn’t enough.
The dog climbs onto him adding probably another 65 pounds to the man’s back. He can’t help but laugh through the pain.
Who needs machines when you have a large dog at home? This golden retriever is a leg, abs, and arms workout all in one.
We all know that dogs love to play. From constant walks to rough belly rubs, pups want your undivided attention. This is all fine until workout time. There’s nothing worse than trying to finish that 100th crunch when you’re furry friend makes an appearance. Ab workouts are hard enough without the extra laughing.
