While Hindash covers all aspects of beauty, one of his most popular videos discusses makeup for mature skin.

So if you’re aged over 50 and you’re keen to learn from one of the best how to apply foundation, we’ve highlighted Hindash’s top tips in this article.

1. Prep your skin with a serum

Serums can help to remove dead skin cells, making your face smoother and well prepared for makeup.

Apply the serum all over your skin on your face, massaging it to wake the skin up, prepping it for the next steps.

2. Apply eye cream beneath your eyes

Massage a small amount of eye cream beneath your eyes, tapping it into the skin gently.

Find a rich cream that will allow makeup to sit on top of it nicely. Hindash also recommends using the eye cream on any dry patches on the skin.

3. Follow up with a moisturizer

Rub a moisturizer of choice into your skin, getting the blood circulation flowing, which helps to nourish cells and keep them vital.

4. Go for a luminous foundation

A luminous foundation has a lightweight feel while giving a soft-focus, radiant finish that’s ideal for older skin.

There are lots of options to choose from when it comes to luminous foundations, but Hindash is using an Anastasia Beverly Hills product.

5. Work the foundation in thin layers

A tip from Hindash is to pump a small amount of foundation on the back of your hand and apply it in very thin layers, taking the time to really work it into the skin, almost like a tinted moisturizer.

6. Skip the powders

Because luminous foundation has a golden peachy tone, giving a healthy glow, Hindash says there’s no need to use powders over the top.

7. Add the remaining foundation to eyelids

Any leftover foundation can be used to neutralize your eyebrows, removing any discoloration. This also works as a base for eyeshadow.

8. Tap a beauty blender all over the skin

Hindash recommends taking a beauty blender and tapping it all over the skin if you have lines and areas where the product can settle in. It takes out any excess that may be sitting on top of the skin.

9. Apply self-setting concealer

After your foundation, you can use a self-setting concealer to give a smoother finish. There’s no need to use powder if you have a self-setting concealer. The concealer will brighten your face without the splotchy finish that you sometimes get from powder.

10. Opt for a cream blush

If you want to take your foundation look to the next level, Hindash recommends using a cream blush, which is perfect for mature skin.

Apply the blush to the back of your hand, then add a small amount on your cheekbone and the apple of the cheek.

Tap the blush in to prevent moving the foundation around. You can also add a bit of blush to your nose and forehead to give a healthy, sun-kissed glow.

11. Finish with your preferred makeup
