Some kitties and their new canine siblings get along surprisingly well. But that isn’t always the case when it comes to mixing these two species.

The latter is true for a tiny kitten named Nimbus. Looking at this sweetie, you’d assume that she was the gentlest, most innocent little girl that you’ve ever met. If you assumed that, you would be mistaken.

Little Nimbus knows how to hold her own, especially when it comes to new siblings! Nimbus’ story starts when a man named Sam Gerth met the small white cloud not too long ago.

It all started when his girlfriend found the little darling on the side of the road. She was all covered in dirt and left to fend for herself.

“We gave her a bath in the sink to try to clean her up a little bit, and then we turned on our space heater and let her rest in front of it because she was shivering and cold,” Gerth told The Dodo. “She ended up falling asleep in my hand for about 45 minutes in front of the heater.”

While they were falling in love with the little kitten, the couple didn’t know if she was right for their family. After all, they did have two other cats and two dogs. For the first while, they decided to keep her away from the rest of the family.

It wasn’t long until her personality shown through: “She very quickly stole our hearts, so that made that decision pretty easy,” Gerth said. “After a day or two, we decided it was time to introduce her to the family.”

Like camels, seals, and frilled lizards, Nimbus puffed up when she encountered her new friends, showing them that she was the boss. Funny enough, the big, bouncy dogs backed away quickly. Turns out, Nimbus really was the boss and they caught on quickly.

“She definitely is a brave little kitty!” Gerth said. “She stood her ground to every dog and animal she met!”

While the other cats and dogs caused Nimbus to freak out, she quickly made one friend right away. His name is Zep. The big old sweetheart loves to cuddle and takes good care of his new feline pal. The cats took days to really accept their new leader, but they eventually did. “They now get along great and play all the time,” Gerth said.

A month later, all was well in Gerth’s home. His animals all got along really well and Nimbus had grown big enough that she no longer felt the need to intimidate her friends, but that doesn’t mean she’s no longer the boss!

“She is a quirky little goofball and has a personality 10 times her size!” Ah, aren’t tiny pets the cutest?
