Mother Nature can feel cruel at times when it comes to getting older. That’s because as we’re forced to watch our bodies age, there’s still that young person inside fighting to emerge.
Karen from Sioux Falls, South Dakota may be a 65-year-old grandmother – but that’s only on the outside. She too felt younger than what she saw in the mirror, and was ready to prove that ‘she’s still got it.’
There was one stylist perfect for the job to help Karen obtain her youthful glow again. The Makeover Guy, of course!
Christopher Hopkins (AKA The Makeover Guy), has been helping people look and feel their best for the past several decades. He’s worked on clients from all walks of life, including celebrities.
If you need a reminder, back in the 1990s Christopher was a guest stylist on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Even then he was transforming lives with his talent and beauty tips.
The Makeover Guy has a special gift when it comes to styling women like Karen, who are looking to turn back the hands of time.
Over the years, he’s helped numerous ‘older’ clients achieve fresher appearances at his Minneapolis, Minnesota salon. But if you’re unable to make it to Christopher’s place of business, no worries. He has a best-selling book called, Staging Your Comeback, A Complete Beauty Revival for Women Over 45.
Many people can relate to her story.
Karen raised four children with her husband and was the grandmother of nine. Now retired from her career as a CPA, she wanted to put a little more (well-deserved) focus on herself. And what better way to do it than with a makeover!
She expressed on camera:
“I’m 65, but on the inside, I always still feel like I’m 35 until I look in the mirror and go, ‘Whoa…I have aged.'”
We could all use a confidence boost sometimes, whether you’re a man, woman, young, or old. But especially when you reach a certain point in life – it’s important to remember that you’re as awesome as you ever were.
Karen needed this as well, saying:
“As we age women get a little critical of our own appearance and I think I’m looking for affirmation that ‘I still got it’ at my age.”
Christopher and his team whisked Karen away to behind the scenes of MAKEOVERGUY Appearance Studios. After some work, she emerged a whole new younger-looking woman!
Karen was a gorgeous canvas in the first place, but with a shorter, sexy haircut she looks like a blonde bombshell. Mixed with a face of makeup, she goes from a grandmother to a Hollywood starlet ready for the silver screen.
One person on YouTube even pointed out that with Karen’s new look and makeup she reminds her of the classic actress, Tippi Hedren.
But the biggest question was, what did Karen think about the transformation? Let’s just say she felt like a million bucks!
Karen excitedly admitted:
“I feel amaze-zing and I think the ‘zing’ is the appropriate part.”
Strangers too think that it’s a makeover reveal worth applauding. One person wrote on YouTube:
“Va-Va-Voom!!! Girl, you got “IT” for sure!”
Someone else commented:
“Gorgeous!!! That smile is beautiful too, and she’s showing it off a lot more after the new look. That’s what you love to see, that extra confidence radiating out!”
